How to Choose

Eye contact is the most important variable. Portraits where the subject meets the viewer create an active, dynamic presence. Profiles and three-quarter views are more contemplative — easier to live with daily, better for spaces where the art should recede when you're not focused on it.

Portrait art at 16x24 or 20x30 inches creates the most immediate presence. At 24x36 inches on a feature wall, a portrait becomes genuinely commanding.
