How to Choose

The most important variable is eye contact. Portraits where the subject meets the viewer's gaze create an active, dynamic presence — they dominate a room in a productive way. Profiles and three-quarter views are more contemplative, easier to live with daily, and better for spaces where the art should recede when you're not looking at it.
